Tom Tomczyk specializes in munitions/munitions constituents assessments, as well as investigations and remedial actions. He has 19 years of experience in consulting, with the last 10 years dedicated to managing munitions projects. His expertise includes munitions risk assessment, project approach development, geophysical prove out and survey, and wide-area assessment. He served as Project Manager on the U.S. Navy’s first completed Range Condition Assessment and Comprehensive Range Evaluation, and for the Omaha Corps Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB) Comprehensive Site Evaluation. He was the primary author for key documents for the U.S. Navy Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Investigation on Adak Island, Alaska, including the RI/FS work plan, two RI/FS reports, and remedial action reports. As manager of a maintenance/repair crew at the Port of Anchorage since 1993, Matt Heiken has provided support to Tesoro, Chevron, Flint Hills, and Petro Star, performing pipeline hydrostatic testing, valve work, welding, cathodic protection, electrical, corrosion and pipeline and tank repair work. Matt is certified to work on pumps, valves, pressure relief valves, pipe wrapping, hot tapping and valve reconditioning. Additionally, Mr. Heiken has functioned as the primary DOT Operator Qualification (OQ) Evaluator, providing evaluation performance verifications for mechanical, maintenance, electrical, corrosion/cathodic protection, and welding tasks.
