US Army Corps of Engineers-Alaska Awards MATOC to Bristol Design Build
Third MATOC in a Month Goes to Anchorage Firm
Bristol Design Build Services, LLC, has been awarded a Multiple Award Task Order Contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, for commercial building construction. The contract is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract (IDIQ), for an amount not to exceed $630 million for a three-year base period of performance, with one optional two-year period of performance.
Three other Alaska 8(a) companies—including one from Fairbanks and two from Anchorage—were also awarded on the solicitation, as were three large businesses. The contract is for repair and design-build construction, or construction from Government-furnished design, to include: military family housing, barracks and dormitories; administrative, operations and training facilities; and other facilities.
The announcement of the award came soon after Bristol Design Build Services learned it had received two Northwest Regional MATOCs from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District. (See news announcement.)
Bristol Design Build Services, LLC, was established in 1996, and as of fiscal year 2008, was doing $25 million in annual business. Bristol Design Build provides design-build construction management and vertical construction services for government and the private sector; its projects in Alaska have included the design phase of a $27.1 million troop medical clinic at Fort Richardson and an $11 million chapel at Eielson Air Force Base.
The company, headquartered in Anchorage, has offices in both Alaska and Washington, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bristol Bay Native Corporation, a regional Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion.
Bristol Design Build is an ANC 8(a), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Certified Small Disadvantaged Business, eligible to receive sole source contracts without contract value limits per CFR 124.506(b). The company is listed in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database, the primary registrant database for the U.S. Federal Government.
