Which File Should I Use?

Full Color

For documents to be printed on an office printer or full-color files sent to a print shop:
Use the Full Color (CMYK) TIF (.tif) or JPG (.jpg) file. All TIF files have a resolution of 300 dots per inch and can be resized if needed. The CMYK JPG files are also high-quality for print, but JPG files should never be converted and re-saved because they lose quality each time they are saved.

Special Needs

For documents to be printed using "2-color" printing at a print shop (such as most business cards):
Use the Special Needs
For large-format, signage, or other special needs:
Ask the printer if spot (Pantone) or process (CMYK) color is needed, and provide the appropriate EPS file. All EPS files provided on this page are saved in Illustrator 10 format with fonts converted to outlines. Note: If you experience difficulties downloading any"special needs" zip files, try the file marked "All Print logos" for the desired logo.

Please note that when printing the multi-color Bristol Alliance of Companies logo, or when printing multiple Bristol logos together on one piece, you will want to use the Full Color (CMYK) EPS version of the logo(s).

Digital Use Only (Websites, Powerpoints):

For digital presentations and other electronic uses: use the GIF file (RGB). All GIF files are transparent and have a resolution of 72 dots per inch. Do not use the RGB file for any documents that will be printed. Right-click to save the compressed file with all RGB logos: RGBlogos.zip (52k)

About Bristol Colors & Color Variations:

Many Bristol materials use full-color (CMYK) printing. Many other Bristol materials, such as business cards, use spot printing. Of course, we want the two to look like they belong to the same company. For that reason, Bristol Creative Services has taken efforts to use CMYK formulas that will come as close as possible to the expected spot color.

The swatches of color in the two right-hand columns represent the variation in color that you might expect for each logo color, depending on whether it is printed using spot color or process (also called CMYK) color.

Please note that these swatches are provided as examples of color variations only and should not be used as color guides. All black in logos is 100 k only.
