Representative General Civil Projects

Troop Medical Center, Fort Richardson, Alaska (Awarded May 2007)
In partnership with Bristol Design-Build Services, Bristol Environmental & Engineering Corp. will be performing civil work related to the design and construction of a 36,390-square-foot replacement health clinic at Fort Richardson, Alaska, on a site previously used as a High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) parking area.  Additionally, a replacement 6-acre HOV parking area will be created and the demolition and hazardous material abatement of the existing clinic will be completed. Civil work includes building siting and drainage of the property, providing a minimum of 200 privately-owned vehicle parking spaces, and designing a fire protection loop and sanitary utilities to serve the new building.

Road Design and Construction Management,
New Stuyahok and Egegik, Alaska

BEESC provided civil road design and construction management for the Egegik Tribal Council and New Stuyahok Tribal Council under contract with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Design engineering services included development of plans and specifications, geotechnical investigation, and cost estimating. BEESC also helped select borrow sites for sources of building materials.

Togiak Sanitation Facilities Project (1999-2005)
This project included design and construction of a new Class III landfill, closure of the Old Togiak landfill, and building a 1.7-mile access road, as well as upgrade of a lift station and a new sewer force main.  The project also included improvements to the wastewater lagoon, new lagoon fencing, the filling and grading of berms, inflow and outflow piping, and a new discharge structure.  Total budget for all phases was approximately $800,000.

Dillingham General Engineering Services (1999-2006)
The City of Dillingham has retained BEESC for a series of General Civil projects, including preparing bid documents for a new landfill cell and designing a new water treatment plant.

Previous work includes:
• Complete upgrade of a major sewage lift station.
• Design of a new sewer force main.
• Design of a sewer outfall line repair.
• Preparation of an updated Water & Sewer Master Plan.

Homer Pressure-Reducing Valve Vault Replacement (2005-2006)
BEESC provided design and bid documents for the City of Homer to replace two existing pressure-reducing valve stations in their water system.  This project replaces the Midhill and Hilltop PRV stations, which were deteriorating.  These valves serve the West Hill transmission main, which is one of the main supply lines to some sections of the water distribution system for the City of Homer.

Demolition of Roberts Housing and Final Cap and Installation of Roberts Landfill
From 1999 through 2002, Bristol was contracted to perform a number of projects associated with the permitting of inert waste landfill cells, and the ultimate closure of Roberts Landfill (a former Class II municipal landfill) in Adak, Alaska.  Tasks performed as part of this closure included the demolition and disposal of hundreds of structures as part of the inert waste disposal activities and the final closure and capping of all landfill cells.  In conjunction with these demolition activities, a total of three inert waste and two asbestos monofills were constructed and closed within the boundaries of the municipal landfill.  BEESC also thermally treated 8,000 cubic yards of fuel-contaminated soil for use as cap material, and disposed of 1,200 cubic yards of thickened sludge in the domestic waste cell.

Nome Engineering Term Contract Administration
In October 2003, the City of Nome selected BEESC to provide municipal engineering services for all aspects of Public Works projects.

Roads & Drainage Site Plans
BEESC has prepared planning and design documents for a number of road and drainage projects, in both urban and rural locations. We also provide site work design for building projects, ranging from large vertical construction in Anchorage to small facilities in rural communities.
