Sample Project: Road Design and Construction Management
New Stuyahok and Egegik, Alaska

Client: Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)

On projects funded by the BIA, BEESC provided civil road design and construction management for the Egegik Tribal Council and New Stuyahok Tribal Council. Design engineering services included development of plans and specifications, geotechnical investigation, and cost estimating. BEESC also helped select borrow sites for sources of building materials.

BEESC construction management services included quality assurance inspection services, mobilization, contract preparation support, and contractor oversight.

New Stuyahok Village Road: The roadway in New Stuyahok covered 3.7 kilometers.

Egegik Landfill Access Road. BEESC designed and constructed the Egegik road. The project consisted of upgrading a roadway running through the village, building a new roadway to connect with a new community landfill, and renovating/rebuilding a third roadway segment. The work involved a total of 6.5 kilometers.

Project Award. In recognition of quality project performance that met the needs of the community, BEESC was awarded a plaque by the Egegik Village Tribal Council. The engraving says, “In appreciation for your valuable commitment and services in management to the Egegik Road Project.”
